Excellent Service. Honest. Sound. Informative. The disqualification period was the best it could have been, I was not given a fine as a community order was decided upon . I had an overall excellent result. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the services of Cunninghams Draycott Browne in the future, they were polite courteous and knowledgeable.

M H Dogar, Taxi Driver – Oxford
Dear Carl,
I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for all your help and support with K’s recent case.
I have to say it was not the most pleasant 6 months I have ever had but it was made all the more bearable knowing that we had someone who knew what they were doing acting for us. You always gave us good advice, even if we didn’t always like the answer, with a very clear and easily understandable manner.
The outcome was more than we could have wished for and this is clearly down to you and your firm so well done.
In the nicest possible way I do hope that we will not speak to you soon!
Mr and Mrs R – Cheshire
We were very satisfied with the initial advice received; Carl explained the situation clearly and thoroughly. All the options were explained clearly and the consequences of each course of action. The information was clear and thorough. The Court procedure, again, was explained very well. The potential Court hearing was a daunting prospect but Carl was able to put our minds at rest and we knew that we were in good hands. We were always kept informed and updated even though we sometimes dreaded the calls! We always knew however that Carl understood how we were feeling and made us feel as ease. We are extremely satisfied with the outcome of the case, it exceeded our expectations and we are very pleased. We certainly would and have already recommended Carl to others.
Mrs Roche, Relocation Consultant – Alderley Edge
I pleaded guilty to an allegation of driving with excess alcohol. This was my second offence within a 10 year period. I was very satisfied with the initial advice I received. All of my options were explained to me, as was what to expect at Court on the day. The outcome of my case was good under the circumstances as I received the lowest possible disqualification. I was also offered the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course which would enable me to reduce the ban even further. I would recommend Cunninghams Solicitors to anybody requiring legal assistance of any kind in the future.
Mr B, Accountant – Shrewsbury
Just to say “thanks” for helping me keep my licence, the alternative doesn’t bear thinking about! I would definitely recommend you to anyone in the same circumstances for your friendly, polite, efficient and effective service. All the best.
A Hall – Burnley
I was very satisfied with the advice given to me, Carl kept me fully informed of all possibilities in terms of outcome and how the process would work. The options available to me were fully explained by Carl, who also explained the Court procedure very clearly. I was kept fully informed throughout my case via letters and phone calls of any progress or developments, and I was VERY satisfied with the outcome of my case – it could not have been any better! I would absolutely recommend Cunninghams Solicitors to anybody finding themselves in a similar position. I have already told people how good Carl was and if they ever have cause to use a solicitor they should use him!
Mr C.J.L – Engineer, Chorley
I was delighted with the service I received from Carl Millar at Cunninghams regarding my recent Court appearance on a charge of speeding, which had taken me to 12 points. The legal process was explained to me with clarity but more importantly, Mr Millar was intuitive, affable and faultlessly professional, allowing me to feel confident that whatever the outcome of the case, I could not have been in better hands. While the facts and legal ramifications of a case may be clear cut, the manner of approach is what makes all the difference, and I felt Mr Millar showed understanding, genuine interest and integrity whilst being approachable and calming in a stressful situation. I would certainly recommend him to any friend finding themselves in a similar situation to myself.
Neil Roland – Photographic Artist, Manchester
I was very happy with my advice, Carl gave me the facts and put me at ease. The options available to me were explained very clearly and the Court procedure was discussed at length. I was kept informed by both email and telephone at all stages in my case and was very satisfied with the outcome – the Magistrates accepted that special reasons existed in my case and did not impose any sentence or fine for this matter. Carl gave excellent advice and dealt with my case in a very professional manner. I would definitely recommend Cunninghams Solicitors.
AH – Derivatives Trader, Derby
I was extremely satisfied with the service I received from Cunninghams and the outcome they helped to secure to my speeding case. A highly professional service I would recommend.
Mr Hughes – Surrey
I was very satisfied with the advice I received. All the options and consequences were explained to me in detail, along with the Court procedure. I was kept fully informed of developments and was extremely satisfied with the outcome of my case and was acquitted of all charges. I would definitely recommend Cunninghams Solicitors to any friends or family and would really like to thank you for all of your help.
Mr R – Student, Essex
I cant thank Carl enough he got me the best possible result in court. He was understanding, patient, but most of all brilliant at his job. I wont hesitate in giving anyone I know with driving issues his number, he is the best.
Miss D Brunt – London
Carl Millar represented me at Scunthorpe Magistrates Court in relation to an allegation of using a handheld mobile telephone. I was not using the telephone but the evidence was stacked against me as two police officers came to Court and both said that I was using the telephone. Carl kept me informed throughout the case and got statements from my mobile phone providers using the evidence in Court. I was really nervous as I thought that I would have difficulties as the police evidence seemed overwhelming against me. Carl argued that there was a difference between holding a mobile telephone and using a mobile telephone whilst driving and I was acquitted by the Magistrates. Carl’s cross examination of the police officers was brilliant!.
Mr P Smith – Yorkshire
I would like to thank Cunninghams and team for their excellent representation. The case against me was ‘failing to provide a specimen’ which was very complicated. I have received professional service with excellent outcome.
Lucy
I was very satisfied with the advice I received – it was clear and helpful. I was treated in a friendly, calm and professional manner throughout which I found very reassuring. The options were explained clearly and in detail, as were possible outcomes and the costs involved. I felt able to make a well informed decision about whether to seek legal representation and what to plead. The Court procedure was explained in detail – so that I knew exactly what to expect on the day. I had been extremely anxious about the whole process and being able to talk through what would happen helped to allay my fears, and enabled me to cope with an experience I had been dreading. I was delighted with the outcome of my case – the sentence I received was the best possible outcome I could have expected in the circumstances. The tariff for my offence was a 17-22 month ban and I received 12 months reduced to 9 months upon successful completion of the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course. I have no doubt that Carl’s plea for mitigation on my behalf was the key factor in obtaining a much reduced sentence. I would most definitely recommend Cunninghams Solicitors to anybody needing legal advice in the future. I would just like to reiterate how pleased I was with the way Carl Millar dealt with my case and (of course) with his successful representations to the Court on my behalf. I would be very grateful if you could pass on my heartfelt thanks.
Ms M – Teacher, Manchester
I was recently represented by Cunninghams Solicitors in relation to an allegation of failing to provide a specimen of breath. Cunninghams provided excellent service throughout and were successful in obtaining an acquittal. I have now been in receipt of the majority of my fees back and am very pleased with both the service and outcome. I would definitely recommend Cunninghams to anybody in a similar situation.
Ms C – Essex

T Griffiths
In 2009 I was accused of driving without Care and Attention, I approached Mr Carl Millar to represent me in court. His manner, from day one, has always been courteous and polite. He has shown great enthusiasm and determination in trying to find a reasonable defence. He has always kept me well informed of the progress throughout the waiting period. The case against me was overwhelming, due to the fact I was unconscious after the accident for 40 minutes and could not collect any witnesses. Since this was my first time in court on a criminal charge, I was completely at a loss and was put at ease by Mr Millar. The sentence imposed was virtually the minimum.
James H Whitehouse – Engineer
I was charged with attempting to drive a vehicle with excess alcohol in March. The duty solicitor advised me to plead guilty as it would be in my interests to do that. I wasn’t happy with the advice given so contacted Cunninghams. From the moment I spoke to Carl he was brilliant. He went through all the events with me and attended court for an adjournment to investigate further. He carried out further research and called on other experts to support my version of the events. The result was that the charges were dropped. As I am self employed and need my licence this was a great relief. I cannot praise highly enough the help and advice I received from Cunninghams. Thank you to both Carl Millar and Jenny who kept me calm through the whole process. Should you find yourself in the position I did, Cunninghams has to be your first priority to call.
Mrs S Milner – Caterer, South Yorkshire
May I say thank you for the representation. From the outset, I was put at ease with my predicament, and that Jennifer, Carl and Mr Caplin, were very professional, supportive and non judgmental about my position. Although the day was a long process, drawn out by the usual extended court proceedings, Mr Caplin was excellent and I could not have wanted for a better outcome. It has not really sunk in – but tonight it may do. Again, my deepest heartfelt thanks for the service you have provided and if ever (touch wood I don’t), I need assistance of this nature again, I know exactly whom to contact in the future. Thank you for your effort and I wish you all the best of luck for the future.
Mr S – Logistics and Warehouse Manager, Accrington

Dean Marriott – DJ Ramirez
I recently instructed Tom Jarvis to act for me in relation to proceedings before Bury Magistrate’s Court. The case was handled with the utmost care and professionalism by Tom and the team at Cunninghams. I was eventually acquitted of all the offences for which I was summonsed. I would recommend anyone requiring advice or representation in this complex area of law to contact Cunninghams.
Paul Needham – IT Technician
When charged with ‘Failing to Provide a Specimen of Breath’ in 2009, I appointed Cunningham’s solicitors to represent my case as they were specialists within driving law. Tom Jarvis was the in charge of my case and was fantastic. Tom kept me up to date with every aspect of my case, always advising me of the best action in which we needed to take to progress.
My case went to trial where the charge was changed by the Crime Prosecution Service to ‘Driving without due care and attention’. I was given a fine and 3 points on my driving license and awarded a refund of all my costs associated with the original charge. I received my costs for the original charge from Cunningham’s in a timely manner and was thrilled with the overall result.
