Carl Millar recently represented Mr F at Northampton Magistrates Court. Carl had previously represented Mr F in relation to an allegation of driving with excess alcohol whereby mitigation was presented on Mr F’s behalf to keep the disqualification down as much as possible. Due to the high level of the reading above the prescribed alcohol limit, Mr F had received a low level community penalty. Unfortunately, Mr F was in breach of the community penalty which could have resulted in a sentence of imprisonment. Fortunately, the Magistrates were willing to accept Mr F’s explanation and mitigation as presented by Carl. The outcome was a small fine and only an additional 14 hours community penalty was imposed.
