Driving with Excess Alcohol

Tom recently represented Mr C before Woolwich Magistrates Court in South London. Mr C was charged with an offence of driving a motor vehicle with excess alcohol. His level of alcohol in breath was recorded at 54 which, in line with current Magistrates Court Sentencing Guidelines, could have resulted in him being disqualified for a period of 16 months. Upon hearing mitigation the Court only imposed a 12 month period of disqualification and afforded Mr C the opportunity to attend the drink drivers’ rehabilitation course which will result in his disqualification being reduced to 9 months.
