Tom recently acted on behalf of Mr I in relation to an allegation of driving without insurance before Bromley Magistrates Court. Regrettably, Mr I had only limited funds and, therefore, rather than representing the defendant in Court Tom entered into negotiation with the Crown Prosecution Service in advance of the trial. Ultimately, Tom managed to persuade the Crown Prosecution Service to discontinue all charges against Mr I without the matter ever having need for a Court hearing. This dramatically reduced the fees that Mr I had to pay and, as a consequence of the matter being discontinued, the defendant was entitled to a defendants’ costs order which will result in a full or partial reimbursement of his fees.
